Personal information
Privacy policy
This policy explains what information we collect when you use this site, why we collect it, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights.

Who is responsible for your information
Montreal Accounting Firm is responsible for the personal information collected through this site. For any question about this policy or about your information, write to info@montrealaccountingfirm.com or call 438-815-5200. Our main office is at 1200 avenue McGill College, Suite 42, Montréal, Quebec H3B 4G7.
What we collect
We collect only the information you send us yourself through our forms — the free consultation form and the quote request form:
- your first and last name;
- your email address;
- your phone number, if you provide one;
- the location closest to you and the service you are interested in;
- your preferred way to be contacted;
- the description of your needs that you write in the form.
Please do not include sensitive information — social insurance number, banking details or tax documents — in the description field. If your file requires that kind of information, we will agree with you on an appropriate way to send it.
Why we collect it
This information serves one purpose: to contact you about your request, to prepare the consultation or quote you asked for and, if you become a client, to provide the services we agree on. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
By submitting a form, you consent to our using the information provided to reply to you. You may withdraw that consent at any time by writing to us.
Who has access to it
Your information is available to the Montreal Accounting Firm advisors handling your request. We also rely on the following providers to run the site:
- Netlify — hosts the site and receives form submissions, which are kept in our Netlify account. Netlify is a US company, so information sent through the forms may be processed or stored outside Quebec.
- Google Fonts — provides the site's typefaces. Your browser requests those files from Google's servers, which discloses your IP address to them.
- Unsplash — provides one photograph shown on the home page, loaded the same way.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, including to a tax authority or a court.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses no tracking cookies, no audience analytics and no advertising pixels. We do not build a browsing profile. The servers hosting the site keep standard technical logs, which may include your IP address, for security and troubleshooting.
How long we keep it
Requests that do not lead to an engagement are kept for at most twelve months and then deleted. If you become a client, your information is kept for the periods required by law and by the professional rules that apply to accounting and tax work — generally at least seven years after the engagement ends.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, to ask that it be corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete, to withdraw your consent, and to ask us to delete information we are not required to keep. To exercise any of these rights, write to info@montrealaccountingfirm.com. We respond within 30 days.
If our response does not satisfy you, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS, which encrypts information sent through the forms while in transit. Access to submissions is limited to the people who need it. No transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, which is why we ask only for the information we actually need.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect a change in our practices or in the law. The date it was last updated appears at the top of this page.
